DIY wheel disassembly device

How to disassemble a car wheel at home

Any motorist is familiar with the situation when he urgently needs to change the tires on his car and continue on his way. It happens that there is no time to go to a tire service. Therefore, the driver needs to know how to disassemble a wheel with his own hands.

When is it necessary to flange wheels?

There are several reasons when you need to replace any component or disassemble tires on wheels:

  • deflates the wheel between the disc base and the rubber part;
  • severe wear of tire treads;
  • camera punctured;
  • The disk is damaged.

If there is no second set of wheels with winter tires, the driver has to replace the tires every season.

Wheel disassembly is required in many cases

Wheel disassembly methods

To trim wheels yourself, you can use the following methods:

  1. Impact method. This method is the oldest. To disassemble a tubeless wheel yourself, you will need a small set of tools and physical strength.
  2. Impactless method: using a second car. This is a safer way. It will require a second vehicle and a wide board.
  3. Impactless method: using a vehicle lifting mechanism and some necessary tools.

Experienced car enthusiasts know how to disassemble a tubeless wheel at home using homemade tire mounting equipment.

Tools for the work performed

For the impact beading method, you must have the following devices:

  • powerful mounting lever or crowbar;
  • beading blades – 2 pcs;
  • sledgehammer;
  • a metal corner that is located between the rim of the disc base and the rubber coating.

For the non-impact method you will need:

  • durable board of large width;
  • second car;
  • mounts.

For the car jack method you will need:

  • scrap;
  • several mounts;
  • jack;
  • strong flat rope.

To make a tire changing machine, you need to have the following tools:

  • welding machine;
  • drill;
  • Bulgarian;
  • Sander;
  • profile steel pipe;
  • round two-inch pipe, 150 cm long;
  • used hub;
  • metal sheet, 4 mm thick;
  • rod, 2 cm thick.

The machine frame is made of profile steel pipe. A round-shaped pipe is attached to the frame in the middle using a welding machine. For the strength of welded joints, it is advisable to secure them with triangular gussets.

The hub is connected to the pipe at waist level. An iron fixing bracket is attached by welding under the hub.

A pipe with steel tips, which are made by a turner or cut out with a grinding machine, is attached in the form of a lever.

Many motorists use special stands for disassembling

Actions during disassembly

For the impact dismantling method it is necessary:

  1. Use a lifting mechanism to raise the vehicle and remove the part.
  2. Unscrew the spool valve, releasing air from the chamber. Then step on the rubber covering with both feet and press down firmly.
  3. Tap both sides of the rubber part with a hammer along the entire circumference of the element.
  4. On the other side of the spool, insert a metal corner under the tire and, using pry bars and a crowbar, pull out the edge of the tire. Repeat the action around the entire circumference.
  5. Separate the camera.
  6. In a similar way, pull out the edge of the rubber on the other side of the wheel.
  7. Remove the camera.

The disadvantage of this method is the possibility of damage to the disk base, chamber or rubber coating.

The non-impact method (using a second car) is considered safer. To do this you need:

  1. Unscrew the slide valve to bleed air.
  2. Place the board on the tire, resting its side against the rim.
  3. Drive the wheel onto the board. As a result, the tire will separate from the wheel.
  4. Drive a second car onto the other side of the wheel and jump so that the tires completely move away from the rim.

On the reverse side of the rim, the steps must be repeated.

The action of the shockless technique using a lifting mechanism:

  1. Remove the wheel from the car.
  2. Install a crowbar or mounting device from below and tie a rope to the sides.
  3. Pass one end through the disc base and attach both ends to the jack.
  4. Then you need to rotate the lifting mechanism. This will separate the rubber coating from the disc base.

Some car enthusiasts make a recess in the garage wall, in which a piece of pipe is reinforced with concrete mortar, which serves as a stop for the jack.

You can find detailed instructions on how to remove rubber from a rim yourself using a homemade tire changing machine:

  1. Clean the tire from dirt and bleed air.
  2. Place a blanket on the bottom of the machine to avoid damaging the disc and install the wheel.
  3. Raise the lever and place the paw on the edge of the tire.
  4. Make a weak solution of soap and lubricate the edge of the rubber.
  5. Using a lever, disconnect the disk base from the rubber coating in a circle.
  6. Turn the element over and do the same work on the other side.
  7. Attach the element to the hub.
  8. Use a lever to lift the side edge of the rubber and install the tip.
  9. Lubricate the outer part of the disk with a soap solution.
  10. Pull the lever to remove the tire bead.
  11. Take out the camera.
  12. Using a pry bar, lift the side, insert the lever under it and remove the rubber casing.

To bead a rubber tire onto a disc base, you must:

  1. Lubricate the tip and edge of the disc with liquid soap.
  2. Seal part of the rubber tire onto the rim.
  3. Place the lever between the edge of the rubber cover and the disk base. The tip should rest against the disc. It is necessary that the edge of the tire is in the center of the lever.
  4. Pull the lever and put on the rubber.
  5. Put on the other side in the same way.
  6. Inflate the tire.

A tubeless wheel can be inflated in a garage without a compressor. To do this, you need to pour 50 grams into a rubber tire. gasoline, ether or alcohol, set it on fire and the rubber coating will fall into place.

When performing such actions, you need to be careful: you need to set fire at a safe distance, because the wheel can jump half a meter off the ground.

For convenience, you need to fix the homemade machine to the floor with mounting bolts.

When using improvised tools and homemade machines, you must follow safety precautions and carefully study the instructions on how to properly bead a wheel. Replacing a tire yourself will save you money and time spent on a visit to a tire shop.

DIY tire changing machine

Hello to all DIY lovers. Car owners are familiar with the situation of replacing tires from winter to summer or vice versa. There are many options on the Internet for this purpose, both machines and individual devices. In this article I will tell you how to make a tire changing machine with your own hands, which will help every car enthusiast to dismantle or flare the wheels on his car, regardless of whether it is tubeless or not. Also, this device will save your money and add experience in welding work.

Before you start reading the article, I suggest watching a video with testing of this tire changing machine.

In order to make a tire changing machine, you will need:

* Welding machine, electrodes * Personal protective equipment: leggings, welding mask * Profile pipe 40*20 * Metal brush * M12 bolts and nuts for them * Electric motor rotor bearing * Magnetic corners for welding * Angle grinder and cutting disc * Automotive camera * Construction corner * Metal pipe 60 mm * Metal corner 50 mm

That's all you need to assemble such a homemade product.

Step one.

The first step is to make a rack out of the pipe, to which the rest of the “equipment” will be attached. We take a metal pipe with a diameter of 60 mm and at the bottom we weld two 50 mm corners to it on one side so that a 40*20 profile fits inside, we place the corners at an angle relative to each other of about 120°. We drill holes in the upper part of the corners and weld nuts for M12 bolts; they will later hold the profile pipes.

For greater strength, we weld a corner connecting the two previous ones. On the other side of the pipe, we weld another 50 mm corner and drill holes in it for two M12 bolts and weld nuts to the corner itself from the inside.
Step two.

Now we are making a base that will serve as a support for the wheel, on which the residual pressure in the wheel will be released. We make sections for the base from the 40*20 profile. We take a welding machine, electrodes, leggings, a protective mask and weld the frame parts. In order to understand how it should look, you can use a photograph; the dimensions of the welded base should be slightly larger than the diameter of the wheel.

We weld the profile along the edges at an angle of 45°, and for strength we install a partition from the same profile pipe, and also attach a 50 mm corner to the base to support the wheel.
Step three.

To make it easier to release the residual pressure in the wheel, we make a lever.
We weld ears onto the pipe with a hole for an M12 bolt in two places, bottom and top. We weld the ears onto a pipe with a diameter of 32 mm, departing about 15 cm from the beginning. Then we cut the pipe with a diameter of 28 mm to a length of 15 cm using an angle grinder. When working with an angle grinder, do not forget about safety glasses and gloves, and also be careful and hold the tool firmly.
We drill holes in the pipe for an M12 bolt and twist the two finished parts together. At the very top of the pipe, stepping back a little from the very edge, we drill a hole for the bolt, and in its lower part we weld a corner, which we will use to deflate the wheels. In the upper eye we install a lever made from the 28th pipe; it is connected to the previous pipe using an M12 bolt. The entire design of the lever looks like this.

We weld two corners to the top of the pipe, and also cut out a round piece of rubber from the car inner tube that will cover the sharp edges of the corners. We drill a hole in the corner with which the wheel will be locked. We weld a pipe of smaller diameter to the corners; this will serve as a stop during the beading/unbeading process.

Step four.
We weld a bearing and a corner to one of the ends of a long pipe; everything is much clearer in the photo.

For these purposes, a bearing from an electric motor was perfect, although it is not known which one, part of the rotor shaft with the bearing itself was sawed off and welded to the pipe, after which the corner itself was welded. We weld a rounded tip to the other end of the pipe; in this case, we sawed off the leg of the kick starter of the moped, which just fit; if necessary, we sand the sharp edges with fine-grained sandpaper.

Step five.

After all the previous steps, all that remains is to make the stops. Using an angle grinder, we saw off the necessary sections of 40*20 profiles and install them in pre-made seats with a bolt for fixation; for better fastening, we drill a hole in the profile for the bolt, so it definitely won’t go anywhere.

We install the mounting lugs in a place convenient for you; in my case, two fastening points were welded on the pillars of the extension.

That's all for me, this tire changing machine is completely ready and working to its full potential.

I wish you all good luck and thank you for your attention.

Finding a tire repair shop is not a big problem, especially in cities.

But sometimes there is a need for urgent wheel repair directly at the site of a puncture or tire rupture. On the road, for example. On some business trip or travel.

Far from any civilization, where there is simply nowhere to look for help. How to do it ?

Old-fashioned method

In the old days, drivers caught by surprise used tried-and-true remedies. They were as follows:

  • the damaged wheel was lifted with a jack and removed from the car;
  • a “spare spare” was installed for a while;
  • the edges of the dismantled wheel at the level of the joint with the disk were placed under one of the wheels of the car;
  • several impacts were carried out along the entire diameter of the tire;
  • the inner edge of the tire on one side was completely torn off the rim (sometimes the impact was replaced by blows from a powerful sledgehammer);
  • two mounts were inserted into the weakened gap;
  • by successive movements of the tools clockwise or counterclockwise, the rubber was picked out from the disk;
  • then manipulations with the mountings were carried out on the other side of the wheel;
  • the disc and tire were completely separated from each other.

Then repairs were made, which usually consisted of replacing the tube or tire.

The big disadvantages of the method were its labor intensity and the almost inevitable cases of the disk being crushed at the edges.

For tubeless tires such defects are fatal. It will definitely lose its tightness and will not hold air. To prevent this from happening, the damaged disc will have to be straightened or thrown away. In such a situation, the cash costs for a new disk are inevitable.

In a standard tire service, virtually the same operations are performed. The only difference is that there they are more thought out, mechanized, and more careful in relation to the disk. As a result, after repair it exactly retains its previous geometry. But how can you achieve this yourself ?

What modern craftsmen offer

If you look on the Internet, you can see many options for homemade mechanized devices for beading wheels.

The overwhelming majority of them are fundamentally focused on professional equipment in terms of capabilities.

The features relate mainly only to some design solutions.

Homemade machines perform the same functions as standard mechanisms in tire shops. At the same time they:

  • simpler in design;
  • have a manual drive for dismantling;
  • reliable in operation;
  • small-sized;
  • easy to disassemble and convenient to store (some models can fit in the trunk of a car);
  • allow for prompt repairs outside the tire shop, directly at the accident site;
  • The vast majority of all handicraft devices are designed for passenger car wheels.

It goes without saying that wheel removal is incomparably more economical for owners of such machines than a similar service at a car service center.

A few illustrative examples

  1. Vertical console with bracket on the table.

Device:

  • an improvised table with a vertical stand (on top there is a threaded thread);
  • locking washer for fixing the disk with internal thread and bushing-axis;
  • movable console with bracket;
  • a metal rod with blades that bend the tire bead away from the disc;
  • rod fixing bolt.

Design models:

Non-adjustable paddle

Handicraft design (the main drawback is the lack of a system for pressing the rod; the blade has to be constantly hammered with a sledgehammer).

Vertical console with bracket

Adjustable paddle

Modern design. The console and bracket with spatula were purchased at an auto parts store. The disadvantages include the short handle, which does not provide effective pressure on the tire.

Console and bracket with spatula

Vertical console with bracket without table

The auxiliary tool, console and bracket are presented here in a factory-made version. Any plane can be used as a table.

The disadvantage is that the dismantling process is cumbersome, requiring the use of many tools at once.

In addition, there is no table here - all operations have to be performed, figuratively speaking, “on the knee”.

Dismantling process

There are many other options. There is no point in considering all inventions: they are designed approximately the same.

Let's look at one model. It eliminates as much as possible all the above-mentioned shortcomings. It is quite simple to manufacture the entire machine yourself, without resorting to the cost of purchased spare parts.

DIY tire changing machine

Drawings with dimensions are the first thing where any practical activity begins. In this case, we will consider a very convenient version of the machine, combining the entire range of tire fitting tasks.

This is a schematic diagram of the structure and functioning of the beading mechanism:

Assembly diagram

In its natural form (after fairly simple assembly) the machine will look like this:

Frame

It is made of a rectangular steel profile measuring 50x25 mm. It needs to be cut into five pieces and welded into one stable base. The length of the run-up of the parallel stops and the profile pipe connecting them can be adjusted to the dimensions of the trunk of the car.

Vertical stand

Made from a metal pipe with a diameter of no more than 50 mm (according to the width of the frame components). Attaching to the base can be done using two methods:

Welding into one inseparable whole (non-separable version).

Fixed with a bolt. In this case, a sleeve corresponding to the internal diameter of the pipe must be welded to the frame, and a hole must be drilled in the pipe itself and threaded for the bolt. This option makes the structure collapsible, smaller in size and mobile (suitable for use on the road).

Vertical stand attachments

Washer-platform (flange) with holes for mounting the disk. It is intended for installation, external inspection of the damaged wheel and its final dismantling after dismantling.

Steel corner

With ribs 40-50 mm for attaching a loop under the lever. It is tightly welded to the rack; the hinge itself can be fastened with screws through drilled holes with threads (as in the diagram above). But the welding method of connecting parts is more reliable and simpler.

Lever arm

Designed for removing a tire rim from a disk.

The diagram shows the loop principle of connecting the lever to the riser . It makes it possible to apply effective pressure on the tire and tear its edge off the disk.

The dimensions shown in the drawing are indicative only. The main thing is that the general proportion is maintained.

Element A

Short tubular bracket with hole for extension pipe. The extension cord is removable. It is inserted into the device before starting work and provides greater pressing power.

Element B

Tire rim support (foot). It is made from the same rectangular profile 50x25 mm as the frame. One end of the stop is attached to the bracket through a loop, the second is flattened and sanded to a rounded shape. This avoids damage to the rubber when pressing with your paw.

Note

When choosing a material for a machine, one should take into account the large loads on all structural elements. Soft steel grades (such as St. 45) are unsuitable here.

To avoid metal corrosion, all machine components must be painted with a persistent oil emulsion.

How to remove a wheel

The manual machine works as follows. Sequence of operations:

Visual inspection. The wheel is installed on the washer pad and checked for surface damage to the tire and rim.

Beading:

— the wheel is placed on the support frame under the lever;

— an extension cord is inserted into the lever;

— the paw is directed to the joint of the tire with the disk;

- the lever is pressed.

The operation is carried out sequentially along the entire diameter of the rim. As a result, the entire outer part of the tire is separated from the rim.

Then the same steps are repeated on the back of the wheel.

Complete dismantling is carried out already on the flange of the vertical stand using a simple mount. It is better if it is long enough to easily remove the tire from the rim.

Wheel mounting

What is important to consider at this stage:

Disk integrity

The geometry of the rim should not be violated in any place. This is especially important for tubeless tires. Small dents on stamped discs can be straightened with a hammer. In case of major defects, the disk must be replaced. Damaged cast wheels cannot be straightened due to the fragility of the metal and are always replaced.

Tire lubrication

It reduces friction between rubber and metal during installation. A thin layer of lithol or soap solution is applied to the inner edge of the tire. This does not in any way affect the tightness and quality of the wheel.

No gaps between the disk and tire

Any gap can cause air leakage, especially from tubeless rubber.

This installation defect can be easily eliminated by tapping the tire rib with a heavy hammer when inflating the wheel on a machine.

As a last resort, you can use special sealing bands and gels (they are sold in all automotive stores).

How to make a tire changing machine with your own hands?

Every car enthusiast can make his own tire changing machine. All you need is desire and patience. This article will help you build your own machine and teach you some tricks.

Making such a tire changing machine is not that difficult. Unlike other homemade models, this machine is mobile. It's on wheels. After work, you can always move it to a corner. This way it won’t take up extra space.

The design is quite simple. The base is T-shaped, made of two channels 100 mm wide. The length of one channel is 590 mm, and the second 800 mm. They are welded perpendicular to each other.

On top, a pipe with a diameter of 55 mm is welded to the longer channel. The length of the pipe is selected specifically for your height. To make it more convenient for you to work with the machine. In this case, a pipe 800 mm long is used. Its thickness should not be less than 3 mm, otherwise the pipe will bend. It is also recommended to weld several corners at the base. This will strengthen the structure.

A movable foot is placed on top of the pipe. It moves due to a pipe of larger diameter. Its length is 120 mm. A small channel is welded to this pipe. The main thing is to first carve a recess on it so that it fits around the pipe. Instead of a channel, you can use corners welded together.

A heel is welded to the end of the foot. The heel can be made from a piece of an old disc. In this case, the disk is from a Zhiguli. It is important to weld it in the correct location. The heel should protrude from below, that is, it must be welded slightly lower and at an angle. You can weld another small piece of metal on the heel itself, so that it protrudes even lower. This “tooth” will help when working with old, stuck tires.

After putting on the foot, a part of the profile pipe is welded to the stand. Its wall should not be less than 3 mm. The distance from the welded profile pipe to the lowered foot is 450 mm. The movable foot and the protrusion from the profiled pipe together represent a mechanism for squeezing the tire.

This concludes our consideration of the lower part of the tire changing machine. Now let's move on to the top part.

The upper part is the bed. It is used to trim the wheels. The bed can be made from the same disk from which the heel was cut. Part of the disk is then welded to a pipe of smaller diameter than the stand. Welding is done from below so that the seam does not interfere. The pipe should be selected so that it does not dangle inside. And for fixation, you can drill holes in the stand and frame pipe, and use bolts as clamps.

For versatility, you can cut recesses in the disk for wheels of larger diameter and gazelle wheels.

The top of the frame is rotatable and removable. It is inserted according to the pipe-in-pipe principle. This device serves as a guide when boarding.

Now let's look at homemade tools that will help you easily carry out wheel beading work. Let's look at the disassembly tool first.

The handle of this tool is made from a profile pipe or assembled from corners. The tool is tapered towards the end, and at the very tip there is a bearing. The second tool is for assembling wheels.

The handle for it can also be made from a pipe or corners. Particular attention should be paid to the tip. The tip is made of several parts. The first part is the tongue, made of cemented tool steel.

A second part in the form of a pipe cut is welded to it on the reverse side. Welding must not be done along the entire circumference; the right and upper parts must be free from seams. Otherwise, the tool will tear the rubber. It should also be fixed exactly in the position as shown in the photo.

The review of the machine is over, all that remains is to tell you how it works.

The wheel is placed on the machine and adjusted to the leg. Then a jack is placed on the lowered leg. With its help, pressing the tire from the wheel is easy. Once you have completely pressed the tire away from the rim, you can begin beading.

The wheel is installed on the frame and twisted so that it does not spin. Then, having previously lubricated the tire, the edge is pryed off with a pry bar or a small crowbar.

A beading tool is inserted into the resulting gap and, using a guide, we move it around the circumference of the disk.

The wheel assembly is as follows.

The tire must be generously lubricated. The tongue of the assembly tool must be inserted into the gap between the wheel and the tire. Then, using the lever, move the tool around the circle, while using your other hand to help the tire cling to the side of the rim. If necessary, the tool can be raised.

Having reached the end, the wheel will be ready.

How to disassemble a car wheel at home with your own hands

The answer to the question of how to disassemble car wheels yourself at home is of interest to every motorist.

Many car owners prefer to remount the car themselves, not trusting the service technicians, since there are cases when the car tire “sticks”, and an incompetent car mechanic can simply ruin the car’s tires.

Therefore, it is worth remembering how to bead the wheels yourself, then you can have 100% no doubt about the success of the disassembly.

How to disassemble a car wheel at home

Wheel trimming is a complex process. Experts give a number of recommendations on how to dismantle your car wheels yourself:

Do-it-yourself wheel disassembly

  • When you need to change one of the tires after removing it, you cannot use a different type of tire than the previous one. This is often expensive: but you shouldn’t change a winter tire to an all-season tire. And there is no summer for winter either.
  • The standard size of tires, rims and tubes should be taken into account when beading.
  • When a new tire is installed, the tube must be updated after removal.
  • Before installation, it is important to check that no contamination has penetrated under the rubber.
  • If there are no special blades for installation, you can separate the tire from the rim using a jack.
  • You should not save money and put a patch on the tire in the puncture area and do the dismantling with improvised tools.
  • It is important to regularly inspect rubber tires to prevent serious damage in a timely manner.
  • You cannot use a screwdriver to disassemble it yourself - it will easily ruin the rubber, and this will lead to additional expenses.

If the wheel was damaged along the way and began to lose pressure, experts recommend not removing the unfortunate nail or screw. The item will hold back some of the pressure in the car tire, and this will make it possible to get to a garage or car service center, where the craftsmen know exactly how to bead a car wheel.

What you need to know to bead a wheel

Mounting blade

Re-flipping wheels requires certain “available means”, time and effort. Many, most likely, have observed how newcomers to driving a car try to remove a “stuck” tire from the rim of a wheel rim by beating a hammer on a screwdriver. This is a mistake and it is prohibited to do so. Even if initially the “injuries” on the tire are not visible, after a certain period they will “remind” themselves.

Purchase the correct solvent or turpentine,

White spirit can also be used. It is necessary to process the product in the “welding” area and when 120 seconds have passed, the tire will easily move away from the car rim. After this, it is important to walk over the treated area with a dry cloth.

Do-it-yourself wheel disassembly is carried out using the following tools:

  • jack;
  • spanners;
  • mounting blade – 2 pcs.

In order for the wheel to be beaded without problems, it is necessary to remove it from the car. Next, using a steel angle, you need to remove the tire from the rim: to do this, the angle is driven between the rim and the rubber and force is applied.

Wheel beading begins on the side opposite the spool. The tire goes flat. The end of the device should be properly rounded for comfortable removal of rubber and to avoid damaging the tire.

It is important to try not to damage the rubber part; you must very carefully remove it from the rim, lightly pressing on the frame.

Only after turning the entire surface of the tire side onto the outside of the rim can you carefully remove the tube. Here's how to trim your wheels. Assembly is performed in the same way, but reverse to disassembly.

Device for self-disassembly of wheels

Lubricating the edges of the tire

Once you learn how to disassemble wheels, there will be no difficulties later. As with any repair, you must initially prepare. The driver must always carry the “duty” tool with him.

There are no special devices, but this does not mean that only a hammer and a pry bar will suffice - car owners use these tools for beading wheel tires. This will not bring anything other than damage to the wheel, and it will also lead to problems on the road.

Therefore, answering the question of whether tires deteriorate from re-flashing, we can answer that the result depends on the correctness of the repair.

After all operations, you need to wipe the area on the rubber dry, eliminating all damp areas. Beading wheels with homemade devices usually does not imply. The tool kit used is a jack; you will also need wrenches, special blades for installation, and a steel angle.

How to remove rubber from a rim: step-by-step diagram

Finding the spool

The initial and significant step towards successfully removing tires from a rim yourself is knowing the instructions. It is necessary to jack up the car, unscrew the fasteners (it is better to twist it a little in advance, before lifting it to a height) and remove the car wheel. Next, the tire is lowered and the places where the tire touches the rim are pressed. As a result, the tires will come off faster.

The wheel beading is carried out from the side opposite the spool, carefully moving forward along the rim.

If you don’t have experience and professional tools, like at a tire fitting, then it will take about 40 minutes to remove one tire.

A steel angle prepared in advance will help in separating the rim and rubber.

It is carefully driven between the rim and the rubber. You should not put too much pressure on the tool, as the material is still soft and can easily bend.

You should work very carefully and carefully. Many drivers often use mounting blades, as they help to carry out beading more accurately without affecting the integrity of the tire. The tire must be removed from the metal carefully. Once the rubber side is free, you can slowly remove the camera.

This concludes the activities. Everyone now understands how to remove tires from a rim with their own hands. All that remains is to find out how to frame the wheels. It’s very simple: take a new tire and put it on a car rim, assembly is elementary - in the reverse order.

Tools for wheel beading

Impact tire disassembly technology is often used by drivers. The devices for beading a tire yourself using this method are the same - a steel corner or 2 special blades. You will also need a jack and a sledgehammer.

The technique involves applying light blows with something heavy along the entire circumference of the wheel. This is a simple job that does not require skills, but it must be done carefully.

If you have doubts about your own abilities, then you need to turn to professionals or experienced motorists or neighbors in the garage.

Wheel beading machine: how to make it yourself

Semi-automatic beading device

You can make the machine equipment yourself. To create the frame part that will serve as the base, experts advise using metal profile pipes. There must be at least 700 mm between them.

This interval will be required to ensure the equipment is reliable.

Two tubes are arranged in parallel and welded with a steel angle. The profile of the smallest standard size is also suitable. As an additional component, you can build adjustable legs.

When the base is made, you need to attach the tube to the frame part. Its radius is sufficient within 10-15 mm. Before welding, the flange part must be welded in advance at 400-600 mm from the floor.

Vertically you need to make fasteners, which are created in the form of a steel plate. It will be needed to mount the device as a lever. The main purpose of the lever is to remove rubber from the disc rim.

The lever part is a pair of shoulder and paw elements, which acts on the rubber itself.

You can also dismantle the wheel in a garage with your own hands. The main thing is to do everything correctly and not to rush. Only by listening to the advice of experts can you guarantee the success of the tire removal event.

Homemade manual machine for tire fitting with your own hands - Turner Master

Finding a tire repair shop is not a big problem, especially in cities. But sometimes there is a need for urgent wheel repair directly at the site of a puncture or tire rupture. On the road, for example. On some business trip or travel. Far from any civilization, where there is simply nowhere to look for help. How to do it ?

Conclusion

From all of the above, a simple conclusion suggests itself: a tire changing machine is easy to make yourself. Moreover, in any version: both stationary and mobile. One day off, no more, will be needed to purchase materials and manufacture equipment. This requires only skillful hands and desire.

The reward for your hard work will be time and money. This way you will definitely save them!
