When choosing a device for welding, we usually pay attention to its technical characteristics and dimensions. However, one must also take into account the conditions in which it will be used. Very often you have to cook in places where there is no access to electricity.

Here, a mobile unit with autonomous power supply will be useful to you. The SAK (wheel welding unit) is excellent for such work.

The wheel welding machine is a current generator, so it is impossible to do without it in places where there is no access to the power grid.

Mobile unit SAK - a modern set of equipment for welding

When purchasing welding equipment for the home, namely for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings, the buyer does not take into account the fact that the welding machine must be connected to something. And if we are talking about a new house under construction, then in the vast majority of cases there is no permission to connect electric current, and using the electrical network without such permission entails significant penalties. There is only one conclusion: the main requirement for technical equipment used in “field” conditions is its complete autonomy, which means complete independence from power sources. If we talk about equipment for welding work, then the ideal option in such cases would be the SAC welding machine. This unit has its own internal combustion engine (ICE).

Characteristics of the SAK welding machine

The main requirement for a SAC welding machine is to carry out welding work that does not depend on the construction site equipment with electric current. In addition, SAC welding performs manual welding with electrodes of different thicknesses, and also cuts metal (it should be noted that the welding of the seam is of excellent quality and guarantees stability when burning the welded arc, and also eliminates spattering when welding hot metal).

Speaking about the technical characteristics that this welding machine has, first of all these are:

  • the ability to carry out welding work using different amounts of current - from a minimum to 120 A,
  • the ability to connect the necessary electrical appliances (for example, a grinder or grinder) to the power supply of the SAC unit.

The weight and dimensions of the welding unit are essential. It would be wrong to think that such equipment, which has the characteristics described above, will be compact in size and light in weight. An internal combustion engine eliminates this possibility, but the unit is highly mobile. This means that the SAC is very conveniently delivered to the construction site without the use of special transport, but by attaching it to the towbar of a passenger car.

Some features of welding SAC

It was previously noted that this unit is equipped with an internal combustion engine, the fuel for which is diesel fuel (it is rare to find equipment running on gasoline). In order for the welding unit to operate smoothly, its design in most models includes a cooling system, otherwise you will have to strictly comply with the paragraph in the operating instructions that requires constant monitoring of the operating temperature.

The design of the SAC apparatus has the following features:

  • the part responsible for welding work is an induction type generator,
  • the SAC engine is mounted on a frame and protected by a metal casing from external influences and from injury,
  • the frame stands on a chassis with wheels, through which it moves.

A modern welding unit, known by the name SAK, is produced by various manufacturers: both foreign and Russian. The choice on the market for this equipment is very wide; models differ in size, technical characteristics and, of course, cost. As for the cost, it can vary from several tens to hundreds of thousands of rubles. There is no significant difference between domestic and imported welding equipment; both have a high degree of reliability and performance, as well as a long service life.

Bag

This word came from Europe. The French sak means sack. This word is now rarely used, even in the form sac de voyage. This happened due to the disappearance of sack-shaped travel bags from everyday use. The soldier's duffel bag (sidor) and backpack are now much more convenient.

In literature you can find the expression “took your sak and went.” This was usually a hand bag with carrying straps. There were men's, women's and soldiers' travel bags. The latter were more like a saddlebag.

For travel, its form developed somewhat differently and stuck for a long time. It's called a "carpet bag". This is a large bag, like a Birkin, that is carried in the hands. The soft shape of the bag made it easy to pack the most inconvenient things: those with sharp edges, round or square. It is not surprising that they were bursting out of the bag in all directions. It was very easy to put it away, but you could only find something in it by dumping out all the contents.

Thick canvas, silk, and leather were used as materials for its manufacture. The travel bag was often lined, usually made of thin leather. Then it was lined with velvet or silk. It looked like a stylish accessory.

Modern traveling bags are not at all similar to their prototype. These are fashionable men's suitcases, elegant women's bags, and business cases. You can hold papers, a laptop or tablet in them. Two compartments remain, but often have a stable bottom. The sack no longer looks like a bag.

UNIT CONSTRUCTION

  • The welding unit is an autonomous power source for the welding arc, in which the welding generator is driven by a diesel engine.

A DC valve welding generator is used as a welding generator. Remote control of the welding current is carried out by a rheostat.

  • In the unit, the engine 6 and the welding generator 3 are connected into a single unit using a flange joint, mounted on the
    welded frame 1 of the unit.

In addition, an auxiliary power generator 8 is mounted on the same frame of the unit, which is driven into rotation by a V-belt drive from the pulley of the output end of the welding generator.

The torque is transmitted from the engine to the welding generator through a coupling 2 with elastic elements.

  • To move the unit, it is mounted on a chassis with two wheels 15, without brakes.

The chassis is a structure consisting of a frame and an axle with two single-wheel wheels, a coupling device and electrical equipment with a plug for connecting the vehicle to the electrical equipment for transportation.

The front support device 13 serves as a support for the chassis when it is disconnected from the tractor. The supporting device is a leg made from an equal-sided angle, suspended on brackets that are welded to the frame. In the working position, the leg is held by closing the hinged connecting bars. In the transport position, the leg is secured with a loop.

The rear support device 14 serves to maintain the chassis in a horizontal position, as well as to protect it from tipping over when loading and unloading in parking lots in the absence of a car.

  • Batteries 9 are installed on the frame of the unit. Batteries are supplied uncharged.
  • The unit uses a diesel engine model D242 as the drive engine. A description of the engine design, its full technical characteristics, principle of operation and operating rules are given in the engine operating instructions.

5.6 The control equipment and instrumentation of the unit are located on special control panels.

When the engine is not running, the instrument circuit switch SA2 on the engine control panel must be turned off. To avoid battery drain.

  • The fuel system of the unit consists of a fuel tank 4 (see Fig. 1), a pipeline and a tap.

At the top of the fuel tank there is a filler neck that is closed with a plug. The plug is equipped with a measuring ruler to determine the fuel level in the tank. The tank capacity is 60 liters, which ensures continuous operation of the unit at rated load for at least 8 hours.

  • To protect against atmospheric precipitation and mechanical damage, the unit is equipped with a hood 7.
  • The design and operating principle of the auxiliary generator are described in the generator passport.

When preparing to move you must:

  1. tighten the nuts securing the hub to the wheel;
  2. Check the pressure in the chassis tires because insufficiently inflated tires are subject to severe wear;

3) fill the hub cavity with grease, adding it through the cover.

6.2 When preparing to transport the unit, the following requirements must be met:

  1. bring the vehicle in reverse to the unit or roll the unit towards the vehicle;
  2. lower the locking device of the unit onto the ball of the traction-chain device of the means of transportation and close the locking device;
  3. connect the electrical equipment of the unit with the electrical equipment of the means of transportation by connecting the plug to the socket;

4) check the operation of the rear lights on the unit;

  1. place the front support in the transport position and secure it;
  2. install the unit on a flat horizontal platform (the design of the unit allows it to operate for a long time in an inclined position at an angle of no more than 10° in each direction from the horizontal);

7) exclude the possibility of moving the unit during operation;

  1. welding wires must be located in such a way as not to interfere with operating personnel during maintenance of the unit;
  2. if in the area where the unit is located there may be traffic or any other mechanisms, it is necessary to take measures to prevent damage to the remote cable and welding wires;
  3. When servicing the unit at night, sufficient lighting must be provided.

6.3 Before starting to operate a new unit, you must:

1) open the curtains of the unit.

  1. check for visible damage to the unit and eliminate loose fasteners after transportation;
  2. Fill the tank with fuel and make sure the fuel system is working properly. The fuel level is checked with a measuring stick mounted in the tank plug;

Net

Another meaning of the word is a big net. English sack is a classic large wooden net. Actually, the word “net” itself originally meant a small sak.

At first it was made entirely from wooden parts: a handle (sakovishche), a ring of arcs mounted on it (could be either round or oval), on which a mesh - rope or wire - was stretched.

Gradually, the arcs were replaced by an iron ring, and then by a plastic one. The network has become nylon. Fishermen appreciated the telescopic bag; now it can be carried not only in a car, but also in a backpack.

This tool is still used today. It is convenient for them to remove fish from the net, from the cage. In aquarium business, a net is used.

ADD-4003

ADD-4003 (with an additional 220V generator) is a diesel welding unit, designed to power one welding station for manual arc welding, used for work in field conditions, because the design includes an autonomous power source in the form of an internal combustion engine. The form of installation is on a single-axle chassis.

Compared to previously produced analogues, the ADD-4003 unit has the following advantages:
  • Increased reliability and service life due to the use of modern and modernized engine and generator;
  • The generator does not have brushes, rings or rotating windings on the rotor, therefore it is ensured
  • Exceptional reliability of the unit when operating under the most severe operating conditions.
  • Economical and small-sized air-cooled engine;
  • The unit is designed to operate outdoors in field conditions at ambient temperatures from minus 45 degrees to plus 45 degrees and relative air humidity of 98% at a temperature of 15 degrees.
ADD-4003 welding units combine the best characteristics:
  • Instant start
  • Multi-stage current adjustment of the welding current and excellent welding properties throughout the entire control range
  • Vertical and ceiling welding, surfacing and electrode cutting
  • Availability of an additional 220V generator for the ability to connect various power tools and lighting
  • Low fuel consumption
  • Long productive life of the generator and engine

The units use welding generators that are certified for basic welding properties: initial arc ignition, stability of the arc burning process, arc elasticity, metal spattering and quality of weld formation. According to the certification results, the specified properties are at the level or higher than the similar characteristics of collector generators, which is achieved through the use of original circuit solutions in the generators and the selection of moderate current loads.

By type, generators belong to synchronous same-pole inductor brushless electric machines of high frequency. These are completely contactless machines that do not have a brush sliding contact, rotating current-carrying parts, controlled semiconductors and other electronic components, which greatly simplifies their design and also increases operational reliability. The generators of this system are the most reliable of all known generator systems, requiring virtually no maintenance. Generator bearings do not require lubrication during their entire service life.

The units are equipped with economical diesel engines from leading manufacturers, have high reliability and work well on diesel fuel from CIS oil refineries.

The units have a one-piece welded channel frame and a completely dismountable rigid hood frame, which protects the units from mechanical damage in harsh operating conditions.

The range of welding units is constantly updated and improved. For all models of welding units, modifications have been developed that provide the possibility of installing an additional generator with a power of 5.5 kVA (220V, 50Hz) and 10kW (220/380V, 50Hz) for connecting power tools, equipment, lighting.

The rational arrangement of the unit controls ensures ease of operation and access for maintenance and repair. The units comply with GOST 2402 “Welding units. General technical requirements” and all safety standards.

High efficiency, reliability and ease of operation make these units the most economical autonomous power sources.

Woman coat

A sak is a wide, slightly baggy, long women's coat. The cut is straight, reminiscent of a bag. That's why it got its name. This is a stylish wardrobe item that easily fits into any fashion trends.

Previously, the back was cut longer than the front. It was fashionable to gather a wide, half-cut back onto a yoke. Then the folds lay beautifully at the back.

But even now this style is in fashion. Summer flowing fabrics will give it a flying silhouette; heavy gabardine will comfortably wrap its owner in winter. Astrakhan sak does not wear down and provides excellent warmth in cold weather. Perfectly hides figure flaws. Very convenient on the road.
