DIY coffee table with lifting top

Need help with assembly. I got the idea to assemble a transforming coffee table.
I drew the table itself in Pro100 and assembled the base. But I ran into the problem of manufacturing the mechanism itself. There is no information on the Internet on the drawings of the mechanism itself.

Maybe someone has assembled something similar, please share a link to the drawing.

I bought one for myself, already assembled duroviv.ru/system/images/…%B8%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B9.jpg Generally original, convenient and looks good. Why were there no instructions?

If anyone is interested, I can send you a mechanism that is easier to manufacture.

Throw it off, let's see what kind of simpler mechanism it is.

I'll send it on Monday

Will you send me the drawings today?

If anyone is interested, I can send you a mechanism that is easier to manufacture.

I made it myself, but the kagbe is semi-automatic (that is, you pull the tabletop towards you, it is understood, then on the other side you open a small part and at the end you unfold the book

In short, it’s a tempting... in general

advantages: - coffee table 900x900x600 - mega-large drawer - under the folded mechanism there is a hiding place for a tablecloth - excellent changing table

disadvantages: - or you will knock your knees into the corners (because if you round the edges, then in the unfolded state there will be something in the center) - flimsy - eating from it, yes, you can... you can swell, but it has play (this can be removed with a system of slings) - how for a coffee table - a little heavy - personally tested - a cabinet under the table is extremely impractical (you rest on your knees)

therefore, if there is some kind of Sabantuy, I carry a folding dining table on 4 legs from the kitchen and then take it away. I did it when they were waiting for the baby - the changing table is excellent

Types of folding tables

Folding tables are very compact, look beautiful, cost little, and are functional. They are usually made from coniferous and hardwood wood, metal, glass, but the design is not overly massive - reclining a large table every time is problematic.

When choosing tables, owners often give preference to functional, compact modifications, for example, options with folding or folding tabletops.

Types of wall tables:

  • ordinary;
  • folding;
  • mounted;
  • mobile;
  • folding bar counter.

folding table with wall mount ideasA wall-mounted folding table is a tabletop that is fixed to the wall using special wall fasteners in the form of supports.
The smallest designs consist of a wide shelf; larger folding tables can accommodate three or four people at a time. Some models are completely devoid of legs, which allows them to take up minimal space, while others have one or two. When choosing an installation location, the available functionality, design, dimensions, height of the chair, and nearby objects are taken into account.

Traditional

A regular or traditional table has a sturdy tabletop that can be mounted on a wall or cabinet. This is a universal model, suitable for decorating a dining room or kitchen work area. The size is selected based on the available space for unfolding.

Models can be placed in a room of any size without cluttering it.

Mounted

Compact wall-mounted structures whose parameters resemble a wall-mounted shelf or an extended window sill. They do not have legs, but are sometimes supplemented with sides. This is the smallest option.

Folding

The folding transformer table is multifunctional. It is made in two versions: wall-mounted (fixed directly to the wall), wall-mounted (the surface of the table is folded from the central axis in two directions, the product is easily moved away, tucked into a corner). When folded, the table can be used as a bedside table.

Folding bar counter

Folding bar counters are used in the kitchen or as a zoning element in a studio apartment, kitchen-living room. The main feature of the design is its elongated shape; it is a long, narrow tabletop. When installed at a height of more than a meter, you get a full-fledged bar counter.

The maximum that the user must do is fix the fasteners with self-tapping screws, which does not require any special skills.

How to assemble a lifting table with your own hands?

Despite its name, the standard hydraulic lift table used in various businesses has much more in common with a forklift or elevator than with a conventional table. Nevertheless, similar designs (similar or similar in principle of operation) are widely used in everyday life, although not as a device for lifting heavy loads.

An example is transformable tables, a large assortment of which can be found in any large furniture store; If you have golden hands, experience (albeit small) in carpentry and a lot of free time, you can try to make such a lifting table with your own hands.

Properly made, such a table has a number of advantages, such as:

Lifting mechanism

There are three types of table lifting mechanisms used in enterprises and at home:

  1. Transformation of the tabletop. At the same time, its dimensions change - length, width, height, and in some cases, configuration. Perfect for the situation already described, when you need to make a large table out of a small one.
  2. Raising/lowering table top. In such models, the shape and dimensions remain unchanged; Only the height of the table changes, which allows, for example, to quickly turn a small coffee table into a dining table and vice versa.
  3. Widespread transformation. Suitable for complex structures that only professionals can make. Here, all parts of the table are movable - both the table top and the legs, which allows you to significantly expand its functionality.

Components

Helpful information
1Durable base board
2Plywood for table top rim
3Elements for creating legs - wooden blocks, metal pipes, corners
4Parts for load-bearing walls
5Power tools - drills, jigsaws, saws
6Brushes for painting and varnishing
7Brass hinges
8Fasteners
9Lots of sandpaper
10Paint, varnish and stain

Remember that this is only a standard set, and for each individual situation, especially depending on the required functionality (or technical specifications) of the table, it can change and expand.

Now let’s move on to the most important element, without which all the others will be completely useless:

Scissor lift table

Sirs and ladies, if you like to read topics briefly and to the point, then it’s better, to be safe, not even open this opus - it will be long, abstract and for the most part not at all to the point.:) But, I hope, it’s interesting - maybe even for young ladies, despite the fact that the topic is clearly garage. Moreover, young ladies are very different. I decided to make this lift when it was already too late to drink Borjomi - I was doing my Pepelats 2.0 and in the end my right hand hurt so much that I could no longer do anything. Everything hurt, from my neck, the right side of my back, to my numb fingers. I urgently requested an appointment with my physiotherapist. She asks - turn your hand like this and your neck like this. I turned and almost howled. Well, he says, everything is clear with you - it’s either inflammation of the nerve or it’s pinched, we’ll fix it now. And it shows the point where something happened to this nerve. And he tells where else and how it hurts. She constantly surprises me with her diagnoses, but now my eyes are wide open. How is it possible to make a diagnosis almost from photographs? Yes, it’s elementary, he says. I went and brought an anatomical atlas - they say this, this and that. Yeah, I understood everything - really elementary :). Well, we received a recommendation - in the near future, nothing heavier than a glass :), do not lift and do special exercises. To prevent the situation from repeating itself and to avoid carrying heavy objects with outstretched arms, I thought it would be nice to get a lift. To begin with, I thought about the hoist. But the morning is wiser than the evening, I changed my mind during the night - a folding lift table seems to be more convenient.

There was nothing ready-made for a reasonable price - you have to make your own. Some will say that time (which we have) is money (which we don’t have).

But in my situation, no matter how much time you save, it will not affect the amount of money.

You need corners and a profile pipe. This means there is a trip to Kin-Dza-Dza on Plyuk. Why Kin-Dza-Dza? In fact, it is something between a junkyard and a store that sells both new and used metal. And the seller there, whom I almost always run into, is surprisingly similar to Uef/Leonov - both in appearance and in clothes. My wife, knowing about my graphomania, kept wondering why I didn’t photograph him for the article - it seems like this is not the first time we’ve seen him and we recognize each other from afar. But it’s somehow inconvenient, even though he’s heard a lot about my crafts - I even came there once on my scooter.

As a result, he gave me 6 meters of profile pipe and 4 meters of angle, cut everything to fit into the trailer, for some 20 chats. At first, when I first appeared at this eatery, he was weighing the metal on some giant scales, then calling the price. He has been omitting this point for a long time - in my opinion, these scales are just as much scrap metal as everything else there and have not worked for a long time. So pricing is done strictly by eye. Judging by the prices he quotes me, he considers me the owner of yellow pants and gives a corresponding discount. Damn, Ostap got carried away again.

Of the Chinese acquisitions, only bearings were used in this craft, not counting the welding machine. I have a lot of cheap bearings from China, but their use is extremely limited. If you need either high speed, or low beats, or reliability, or low noise, this is a bad option.

Nevertheless, I use them in my homemade products - well, very low prices. About a year ago, we had to change the bearings in the ventilation system of the house, which became noisy after working for some 15 years. Despite the very popular size, I had to buy very special quiet bearings from a local specialized store - they work continuously for 10 years, at least I don’t need noise in the house. They cost, of course, several dozen times more.

From the corner we cook the table itself and the tray. Theoretically, you can do without a pallet - the wheels can roll directly on the floor. But with a pallet it looks somehow more solid and you can attach castor wheels to it and then roll the whole structure around the garage. We cut and drill the levers.

Drilling holes is perhaps the most important and responsible step. All holes must be symmetrical; an error of a couple of millimeters will result in the puzzle not working out. When the table is folded, the levers will not lie on top of each other and, accordingly, the table will not fold compactly. To avoid this, I carefully marked one lever and drilled holes with a diameter of 4 mm. Then, using the drilled lever as a template, I drilled the remaining 7 levers with the same drill. Then I drilled all the holes to 10 mm with a carrot. In a good way, the crossbars, which are tightened by the lead screw, should be made in the form of a double triangle to avoid sagging. But the furniture profile with walls 2 mm thick is so rigid that I (in vain) decided to neglect it. If you use a profile with a wall thickness of 1.25 mm, then the triangle will not be superfluous.

Now I will say a banality. As a rule, nuts and washers are sold galvanized. If you need to weld them, you must first throw them into a hot solution of citric acid; the zinc will dissolve very quickly.

To prevent the structure from dangling, we put spacers made of 13 mm tube on the screws. You can weld it on a couple of points.

To prevent the bearings from flying out and the table from unfolding when you try to lift it, seemingly meaningless pieces of hardware are welded in - limiters.

In a good way, now I should take everything apart, paint it and put it back together again. But laziness arose - we’ll paint it later somehow. May be. In the meantime, this will do ©.

I did not make an electric drive - I only use the garage as a workshop in the summer; most of the year the table will lie folded, most likely in a cold barn. The less space it takes up, the better. And if necessary, it won’t take long to lift it with a wrench.

I planned to make the tabletop from thick MDF; I was sure there was a suitable one in the shed. She was found, but 8 centimeters shorter than necessary. What caught my eye was a panel of paulownia felt that was ready to be thrown away, purchased a very long time ago, and it looked like it was already covered with mold. In my opinion, this tree is not very well known. It received its name in honor of the daughter of Emperor Paul I, Anna Pavlovna. In the Far East, mainly in China and Japan, it is practically a weed. But if aircraft modellers are reading this, I advise you to pay attention - the density of the wood is similar to balsa wood, and the price is incomparable. They write that in China it is used instead of packaging foam - but I have never seen such packaging material.

The tabletop is ready, you can set the table and invite guests. Apart from methylated spirits, nothing was found in the garage, not even glasses.

Mr. Sopromat is not to be trifled with. They say he punishes everyone who doesn’t know him, but sometimes he even punishes his good friends. And he breaks everything - from children's toys to bridges.

Looks like he visited me when I tried to lift something heavier - look what I did. I was in vain hoping for the thickness of the profile.

Now we need to redo it.

Forty souls howl in shifts, white-hot. That's how troubling triangular matters are!

And finally - ta-da! Let's pick up the scooter!

The next day, “someday” finally arrived - there were cans of spray paint that had been standing for about 15 years and, surprisingly, the paint had not yet completely dried. Paint, dry and light up!

It seems to have turned out well - I mean the meat. And the vodka - yes, not fresh :)

The disadvantage of this lift design is well known - when the diamond is folded, a very large force is required to “unfold” it. Those. The table can be folded completely only for storage, and to lift it it must already be slightly raised. Experienced readers will say that they don’t do this, but at least do it like this:

But it’s difficult to do this with a screw lift, and I didn’t plan to make a hydraulic lift. And it is not needed so often - despite all the shortcomings, it works and takes up very little space when folded.

When everything was already done, I decided to look on the Internet to see if someone had a better design for this. And I found one - almost exactly the same as mine. Only my friend did not shoot a video under load - and the crossbars in his design will fold the same way as mine in the first version:

Be careful not to stand under the boom; after all, lifting mechanisms are high-risk mechanisms.

Always follow safety precautions and never use homemade devices.

I apologize if something is wrong - after all, the author in his past life (before retirement) had nothing to do with either welding or metalworking, although deep down in his soul he probably dreamed of being a welder. Well,:) cats, how could we live without them? They don’t go to the garage, it’s not a royal matter, they prefer to be at home. But here's the problem - they squeezed out their favorite box.

For those who are allergic to cats, there is a white and fluffy crocodile for you - although not a local one. Or a polar ostrich from a farm nearby.

Good luck to everyone in lifting the unliftable, cramming the unbearable, carrying the round and rolling the square.

Blueprints

The basis of any design work is a competent, carefully thought out and calculated drawing. You can get such a drawing in three ways:

After which comes the turn of the work itself - it is necessary to cut and saw the workpieces, treat them with stain and varnish, paint and dry them, then connect them according to the prepared drawing and install the lifting mechanism.

Frankly speaking, it is difficult to provide any universal instructions for making a lifting table - there are too many varieties, modifications and configurations, ranging from the simplest to complex multi-sectional structures with a large number of moving elements.

However, the transforming table is a reliable design that allows you to ergonomically use the workspace, providing comfort, ease of use and wide functionality.

How to choose a drive

Drives for lifts are divided into electrical and hydromechanical. Electric models have a small carrying capacity and break down quite often.

Considering the costs of repairing the device, such drives are chosen less often; their cost is not recouped. Hydraulic drives include a cylinder, pump and motor.

This equipment has a large load capacity; such designs are much more reliable than electrical devices.

When choosing a drive, it is important to consider the following nuances:

  • what cross-section the metal fasteners and beams will have;
  • calculate cylindrical axes;
  • depending on the required performance, select the cylinder according to the rod length;
  • what power will the hydraulic pump have; organize a device control panel.

By dividing the equipment manufacturing process into several stages, it will be possible to minimize shortcomings and make the mechanism reliable and durable.

Ramp for pallet wrapper

What is a pallet wrapper? This is equipment that almost no enterprise involved in the storage and transportation of various goods can do without; it is used to wrap products in a special protective stretch film, while the cargo itself is placed on a wooden pallet or pallet.

You've probably seen the products of such packers in stores, although hardly anyone paid any serious attention to it - just think, boxes or bottles in film on a wooden box!

Meanwhile, proper winding helps protect the cargo from climatic and shock influences, and rigid fastening on the pallet will not allow the goods to spill onto the ground and get lost during transportation.

But let's be consistent. So, first of all, there are two types of pallet wrappers:

Final finishing and decoration

To give the finished product originality and make it unique, final finishing is needed. There are many ways to decorate. When choosing, it is important to consider the overall style of the interior. Homemade transformable tables should fit harmoniously into the space. What finishing options can be used:

  1. Artificial aging of a product. This is a fashionable design technique that suits different styles. The surface, previously painted with gold or silver paint, is varnished, and then sandpaper is passed over it.
  2. Varnish coating. You can buy a special varnish in the store, which when dried gives a cracking effect. The product with it looks like expensive antique furniture. You can add confiture or sparkles to it, then the table will be even more beautiful.
  3. Marine theme. If after rest there are various pebbles and shells left, they can be used for decoration. They are perfect for decorating a table top, legs or just the sides of a product. You can glue them in any order or create a composition.
  4. Stencils. They will help you draw any drawings or patterns on the surface. Ready-made store-bought ones or home-made ones will do.
  5. Mosaic. You can make a beautiful composition from fragments of multi-colored glass and mirrors by gluing them to the surface. Such a table will be unusual and original.

Step-by-step making of a table from boards with your own hands, examples of decor

After reading the information on how to make a transformer table with your own hands, it becomes clear that this is a simple process. If you take the task responsibly, prepare and complete all the necessary steps, then within a few hours you can get a wonderful multifunctional piece of furniture, and use the saved money to invite guests to try it out.

Automatic pallet packers

The most widely used models on the packaging market, the main advantage of which is productivity and quality of work. The device is fully automated and does not require direct operator control - he just needs to place the load on the working platform, check for the presence of film and film and press a button on the remote control.

After this, the device turns on; at the same time, a movable mechanical “arm” begins to rotate, at the base of which rolls of film are fixed, carrying out a smooth and widespread winding of the load. At the same time, it is possible to adjust both the speed of movement of the “hand” and the level of film tension, which allows you to significantly reduce its costs (two to three times!). After which the load is removed from the platform, a new one is installed and the process is repeated.

Materials

No less important than the drawings and mechanisms is the material from which the lifting table parts are made. Its strength and reliability, resistance to damage and climatic influences, weight and dimensions of the structure depend on this. So, the most popular types of materials in manufacturing are:

More on the topic: Advantages of telescopic lifts

  • Chipboard. Combines low price, functionality and pleasant appearance. The material is easy to process, the lightest working surface for a circular saw.
  • Fiberboard. Choose slabs with at least a middle plane! Then the material will be as easy to process as chipboard, which will make it possible to produce parts of any shape and size. Environmentally friendly.
  • Natural wood. Significantly more durable, although expensive, material. Suitable only for the appropriate interior.
  • Glass. It looks original and stylish, takes up little space, and has ample opportunities for decoration. However, it is very important to choose durable glass, otherwise the final structure will be too fragile; Tempered glass is not inferior in strength to hard wood.
  • Metal. The most durable and heaviest material, harder than others to process. Not recommended for home installation; although some small models are relevant for such modern stylistic trends as loft and high-tech.

Electric garage lift table

Hello everyone, in this tutorial we will look at how to make a simple and convenient lift table. With it, you can easily lift heavy parts to the desired height for work. The table is driven by a small motor from a screwdriver, and can be powered by a battery. There are also wheels installed on the base, which will allow you to move the table along with the parts to the right place. Assembling such a table is not difficult, the materials can be easily obtained. Since the author had to work with fairly thick metal, he used his plasma cutting machine, belt sander and other equipment that not everyone may have. You can do it with simpler tools, it all depends on the time and effort spent. Let's take a closer look at how such a table is made!

Materials and tools used by the author:

List of materials:

- Sheet steel; - corner; — bearings; — round timber (steel rods); — wheels for trolleys; - long threaded rod; — a motor with a gearbox from a screwdriver; — gearbox from an angle grinder; - switch; — battery; - dye.

List of tools:

— band cutting machine; — plasma cutter; - welding machine; - drilling machine; - taps for threading; - lathe; — belt grinder; - clamps, magnetic squares, etc.

Table manufacturing process:

Step one. Making the base

First you need to make the base of the table; to make it you will need a corner. The point of the corner frame is that two rollers can then ride on it. We cut the corner to the required size and weld the frame to the required length.

Next, we need to install wheels on the frame, which will allow you to easily move the table along the floor. In total you will need 4 cart wheels. To screw them to the frame, the author made special mounting platforms. They are pieces of thick sheet steel in which holes are drilled and threaded for bolts.

Step five. Electric drive

The author's table runs on a battery. First, we need to adapt a gearbox from an angle grinder, which will create the required torque. We disassemble the angle grinder, cut off a piece of the anchor and press in the axle.

Basic requirements for the manufacture of scissor lift mechanism

During the manufacture of the lifting mechanism, it is important to ensure that the design meets the basic requirements.

If you ignore the basic standards, the device will not work correctly, and the mechanism may pose a threat to the person using it.

First of all, it is important to determine to what height the equipment can lift loads.

There are scissor tables that rise to a height of up to one meter, and some devices can lift up to a height of two to three meters.

Given this indicator, it is important to comply with certain safety requirements and rules.

When analyzing the future design, it is necessary to correctly, in accordance with the standards:

  • choose electric or hydraulic drive;
  • develop a lift diagram;
  • select a system for regulating and controlling the device;
  • think over fastenings of equipment to the floor.

They produce both self-propelled and stationary lifting mechanisms.

The stationary device is securely fixed to the concrete floor, and self-propelled lifting tables can be moved wherever necessary if necessary.

Stationary devices are much safer for people and property than mobile devices.
