Main content of the state standard
In total, the specified state standard has three tables, two of which are in the notes section. The main table is the first one, which shows all the required dimensions of the corners, including:
- Assortment number;
- Main dimensions of products;
- Cross-sectional area in square centimeters;
- Reference values for axes;
- Moments of inertia;
- Angle of inclination on the axis;
- Weight of a 1 meter long assortment in kilograms.
The numbering goes in a certain way, for example, 2.5/1.6 and up to 20/12.5. At the same time, it is worth carefully selecting assortments in accordance with the client’s requirements, since they may have the same internal and external radius. Product masses vary from 0.91 to 39 kilograms. Also, each assortment can have several values of the same value, be it cross-sectional area or reference values for axes. The table is very detailed and quite easy to work with. With proper preparation, finding the necessary assortments will not be difficult.
Weight and dimensions of unequal corner
Each number of an unequal angle can correspond to several positions with different weights and cross-sectional areas - depending on the thickness (t, mm) of the edges. The weight of the corner (one linear meter) is determined theoretically using a formula that takes into account the profile dimensions according to table. 1 GOCTa 8510-86

Notes on the table
After the main table there are notes. First, it is indicated that the main parameters regarding the cross-section and main dimensions are calculated from the nominal dimensions. The radii of curvature, shapes and dimensions of the area, together with some other data, are given to construct the caliber without checking on the assortment itself. Information has also been added that products marked with asterisks are manufactured according to consumer requirements.
The accuracy of rolling angles is indicated by the symbols A and B, which correspond to high and normal accuracy. Tables 2 and 3 contain assortments indicating the maximum deviations for the width and thickness of the shelf. The range of deviations in width is from 1 to 3 millimeters, in thickness up to 1 millimeter.
The deviation from the right angle at the top cannot be more than 35 minutes. The blunting of the outer corners of the shelves is not controlled, but the approximate indicators are as follows:
- 0.3 shelf thickness for thicknesses up to 10 millimeters;
- 3 millimeters for corners with a thickness from 10 to 15 millimeters inclusive;
- If the corners are over 16 millimeters thick, then blunting up to 5 millimeters is allowed.
With lengths from 4 to 12 meters, we produce such types of angles as measured length, multiple measured length and unmeasured length, as well as limited unmeasured length. Twisting around the longitudinal axis is not allowed, and the cross-sectional values must be checked at a distance of at least 500 millimeters from the end of the rod. The curvature of the corners should not be more than 0.4 percent of the length of the product.
Description, characteristics, accuracy class, assortment (GOCT 8510-86)
GOCT 8510 86 establishes the following size range of unequal corners (large shelf according to GOCT 8510 86 (feather) is designated B, small (butt) - b, shelf thickness - t):
- Minimum acceptable dimensions: B=25 mm, b=16 mm, t=3 mm (L25×16×3).
- Maximum dimensions: B=200 mm, b=125 mm, t=16 mm (L200×125×16).
According to the quality of rolled products, hot-rolled unequal flange angles are produced in two accuracy classes: A - high and B - normal. Accuracy classes determine the maximum deviations of nominal dimensions, radii of curvature and other geometric characteristics of rolled metal.
The number of the unequal angle is written as a fraction, where the first digit is the size of the large shelf in cm, and the second digit under the fractional line is the size of the small shelf in cm.
Hot-rolled unequal angles are manufactured from carbon steels (according to GOCT 535–88 and GOCT 380–94) or low-alloy (GOCT 19281-89). Examples of symbols:
- Angle No. 4.5/2.8 with shelf width B=45 mm, b=28 mm, thickness t=4 mm, high accuracy class B made of steel St3sp-1 GOCT 535-79):
- Angle No. 7.5/5 with shelf width H=75 mm, b=50 mm, thickness t=7 mm, high precision class made of low-alloy steel 09G2 according to GOCT 19281-89):
Description of document completion
At the end of the standard, information data is provided for unequal angles. They indicate information about who developed and introduced the document (Ministry of Ferrous Metallurgy of the USSR and the State Committee for Construction of the USSR), when the document was introduced and approved (by a commission of certain people related to the government), instead of which previous standard, validity period and reissue . It is also indicated that this guest is not protected from copyright and can be distributed in the public domain without claims regarding copyright.
The range of unequal angles is important in construction and in ferrous metallurgy. • hot-rolled equal flange steel. GOST 8509-93; • hot-rolled steel, unequal flange. GOST 8510-86; • steel bent equal flange. GOST 19771-93; • steel bent unequal flange. GOST 19772-93.
- Corner rental is produced:
• from carbon steel of ordinary quality (GOST 380-88) grades: St0, St3kp, St3tss, St3ps, St4kp, St4ps, St4sp, St5ps, Stbps, Stbsp; • made of high-strength (low-alloy) steel (GOST 19281-89) grades: 09G2, 12GS, 16GS, 14G2, 17GS, 09G2S, 14KhGS, 15KhSND, 10KhNDP, 17G1S, 10G2S1, 10G2BD, 10KhSND, 15G2SF D, 14G2AF, 16G2AF, 15G2AFDps, 18G2Afps. Production of unequal angle
Like the equal-shelf type, the opposite-sex steel angle is manufactured using the following methods:
- Hot rolling - pressure is applied to the metal ingot under the influence of the shafts and at the same time the workpiece is shaped.
- On a rolling bending machine, cold and hot rolled metal strips are used as a basis.
Chemical properties and quality depend on the source material - steel grade:
- low alloy;
- carbon;
- AISI types.
Additionally, they can be perforated, anodized, black rolled steel can be galvanized, painted.
Steel angle unequal: GOST
Requirements for quality parameters are regulated by the following documents:
- GOST 8510-93 (steel angle unequal);
- GOST 19772-93 (uneven flange bent steel angle).
Transportation and storage
It is allowed to store the square in open areas if special cassettes are available. Upon delivery, each pack (4-9 t) is securely fixed. At the Customer's request, the products are laid in a herringbone pattern. Sales and delivery to sites in Moscow and the Moscow region using our own vehicles, in Russia - by rail.
