1) By agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer (according to the agreed specification).
Notes

1 The cross-sectional area and weight of 1 m of rolled length are calculated based on the nominal dimensions. When calculating the mass of 1 m of rolled steel, the steel density was taken to be 7.85 g/cm3. The weight of 1 m length of rolled stock and the cross-sectional area of rolled stock are reference values.

2 By agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer (according to the agreed specification), rolled products are manufactured of intermediate sizes with maximum deviations along the nearest smaller diameter.

3 For rolled products with a diameter of up to 9 mm inclusive, produced in coils on mills not equipped with finishing blocks, maximum deviations in diameter are allowed no more than ±0.5 mm (B4).

Carbon steel wire rod of ordinary quality GOST 30136-95 (ISO 8457-1-89). Assortment

Application area

This standard applies to ordinary quality carbon steel rods intended for drawing wire and other purposes.

Classification

The wire rod is made from carbon steel of ordinary quality, grades St0, St1, St2, St3 of all degrees of deoxidation according to GOST 380.

According to the cooling method, the wire rod can be cooled in air or subjected to one or two-stage accelerated cooling:

  • УО1 – single-stage cooling;
  • УО2 – two-stage cooling;
  • VO – air cooling.

In terms of rolling accuracy, wire rod is manufactured according to GOST 2590:

  • B – increased accuracy;
  • B – normal accuracy.

The wire rod is made with a diameter of 5.0; 5.5; 6.0; 6.3; 6.5; 7.0; 8.0 and 9.0 mm. By agreement with the consumer, it is allowed to produce wire rod with a diameter of more than 9.0 mm in coils.

The diameters of the wire rod, maximum deviations in diameter, cross-sectional area and weight of one meter of length must comply with GOST 2590.

Example of a symbol

Wire rod rapidly cooled by a single-stage method (UO1) with a diameter of 6.0 mm from steel grade St3kp of normal rolling accuracy (B):

Steel Bar Weight

The weight of a linear meter of long products depends on its diameter and shape (solid, hollow, smooth or corrugated surface), as well as dimensional error (accuracy class).

Steel rod GOST

Steel rods are manufactured in accordance with established GOST standards from steel of various qualities.

    Depending on the production method, there are 3 types:
  • hot rolled;
  • cold rolled;
  • forged.

Hot-rolled according to GOST 2590-2006 are made with a diameter from 5 to 270 mm from carbon and alloy structural steel without heat treatment.

Cold-rolled according to GOST 7417-75 are produced with a diameter from 3 to 100 mm from alloy or high-quality carbon steel. Thanks to this manufacturing method, cold-rolled steel bars are characterized by high dimensional accuracy. To increase the anti-corrosion properties, the rods can be additionally galvanized.

Forged according to GOST 1133-71 are produced with a diameter of 40 to 200 mm, produced on forging machines using hydraulic presses and hammers.

Diameters of steel bars

Long-rolled metal products are produced with a diameter from 5 to 300 mm with a dimensional increment of 1 mm, and a length from 1 to 12 m. Products with a cross section of up to 9 mm are usually supplied in coils, more than 9 mm in the form of rods, and more than 280 mm in forgings. The diameter is indicated on the marking.

    According to the level of accuracy, steel bars are divided into 3 classes:
  • high (marked “A”, dimensional error ranges from -0.9 to +0.3 mm);
  • increased (“B”, from -2.0 to + 0.6 mm);
  • normal (“B”, from -4.0 to 0.8 mm).

“35 - B - N” is an example of marking of round rolled metal products. The first number indicates the diameter, then the accuracy class. The last letter characterizes the special manufacturing conditions, in this case, “H” means “hard-worked” (with a hardened surface).

2 Classification. Main parameters and dimensions

2.1 Rolled products are subdivided: - according to rolling accuracy: especially high - AO1; high - A1, A2, A3; increased - B1; regular - B1, B2, B3, B4, B5; - length: measured - MD; measured with unmeasured length - MD1; multiple dimensional - CD; multiple dimensional with unmeasured length - KD1; unmeasured - ND; limited within unmeasured limits - OD; limited with unmeasured length - OD1; in skeins - NMD; - according to maximum deviations along the length of rolled stock of cut and multiple cut lengths by groups: BD and VD; — according to curvature into classes: I, II, III, IV. ______________ When supplying rolled products of measured length with unmeasured length (MD1), multiple of rolled stock with unmeasured length (CD1) and limited rolled stock with unmeasured length (OD1), the presence of rolled stock of unmeasured length is allowed in an amount of no more than 5% of the batch weight.

1 area of use

This standard applies to hot-rolled steel bars of round section (hereinafter referred to as rolled products) with a diameter from 5 to 270 mm inclusive, which is used in all industries.
Rolled products with a diameter over 270 to 330 mm inclusive are manufactured by agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer (according to the agreed specification).

  • measured - MD;
  • measured with unmeasured length - MD11);
  • multiple dimensional - CD;
  • unmeasured - ND;
  • limited within unmeasured limits - OD;
