The autonomous sewage system "Terra" is designed for deep biological treatment of wastewater, which is carried out through forced aeration and decomposition of contaminants under the influence of bacteria. The use of Terra septic tanks guarantees an excellent level of wastewater treatment (up to 98%) and the absence of unpleasant odors.

“Terra” septic tanks have a reinforced cylindrical body with a wall thickness of 12–50 mm for various models. It is made from high-quality polyethylene using seamless technology, which means it is highly resistant to corrosion and low temperatures (down to -40 ° C). These are vertical structures that do not require much space for installation on the site.

Our catalog presents various modifications of Terra septic tanks, designed to serve from 3 to 20 users.

Advantages of Terra septic tanks

Numerous reviews about Terra septic tanks, which you can find on the Internet, mainly describe the following positive features of this autonomous sewage system:

  • The service life of a sewerage installation is 50 years or more.
  • The shape of the body prevents the septic tank from floating up even without anchoring during installation.
  • Ease of maintenance without large financial costs;
  • Silent operation of the septic tank.
  • There is no need for additional wastewater treatment using filtration fields.
  • The installation can continue to operate for 5 hours without power supply.
  • Sewage wastewater, after being cleaned with a Terra septic tank, becomes suitable for watering plants on a personal plot, and the sludge that is formed during the operation of the installation can be used as fertilizer.

The lineup

The manufacturer produces Terra septic tanks of different capacities, so consumers have the opportunity to choose an option that can optimally meet the needs of a particular family. The most popular models in private construction are:

Septic tank with a volume of 1.5 cubic meters

  • Terra-3. This is the most compact model, designed for inclusion in the sewer system of an object with low water consumption. The daily productivity of the installation is 0.3 m³, the installation can simultaneously accept up to 0.15 m³. Installation dimensions: diameter – 1.2 meters, height – 2 meters.

Advice! If the installation scheme of the local sewerage system involves deep laying of sewer pipes, then it is recommended to choose the “Terra” installation, which is labeled with the word “Long”. The difference between the model is the elongated neck. So the total height of the Terra-3 Long model will be 2.5 meters.

  • Terra-5. This installation is suitable for serving five nominal users. The installation can receive up to 1.2 m³ of liquid per day, the volume of one-time discharge is 0.25 m³.
  • Terra-8. This treatment plant is suitable for a large house, the daily water flow of which is up to 1.6 m³. This performance is sufficient to serve eight users.

Advice! There are also more productive versions of Terra septic tanks; they are designed for servicing large facilities, as well as for collective sewage systems serving several private houses.

Features of Terra sewerage installation

There are several requirements that should be taken into account when installing the Terra autonomous sewage system on the site. The septic tank should be located:

  • at a distance of 5 or more meters from a residential building and any other buildings;
  • at a distance of 20 meters or more from wells or wells on the site;
  • in the lower part of the site's relief.

The dimensions of the pit for installing a septic tank must be 40 cm larger than the dimensions of the tank itself on each side. The bottom of the hole must be covered with a 30-centimeter layer of sand and compacted properly. The septic tank body must be located vertically and perfectly level in the pit.

General information

Characteristics

  • The local treatment station is made of high-strength polyethylene.
  • The structure is made by casting, which eliminates the presence of welds.
  • Terra has the thickest walls compared to all other structures of this type.
  • The thickness of the smooth wall is 25mm
  • The thickness of the thick walls (ribs) is 50mm.
  • The tank consists of five compartments.
  • A pump is installed in the last chamber for forced removal of purified water into the ground or a separate storage tank.

How does Terra autonomous sewage work?

An aerator is installed in the first chamber, which enriches the wastewater with oxygen, which is a favorable environment for microorganisms. Bacteria accelerate the process of decomposition of organic compounds, as a result of which large fractions are crushed, form sludge and precipitate. Next, the airlift transports the semi-purified wastewater to the second compartment.

  • In the second compartment, the wastewater settles with bacteria, which cleans and clarifies the liquid. For the productive activity of aerobes, an aerator is installed in the second chamber, just like in the first. As a result, the liquid is divided into two components: activated sludge and partially purified water.
  • Water enters the third chamber through a sludge stabilizer, where it awaits another filtration. The third compartment allows the water to settle quietly and the silt to settle.
  • In the fourth compartment, the water settles again and goes out.
  • The fifth chamber carries out forced drainage of water into the storage tank or soil.

Cons of Septic tank Terra

  • Energy dependence. If there is a power outage, the station can operate for no more than 4-6 hours.
  • Demanding requirements for drains.

Attention! Since the treatment plant processes sewage waste containing bacteria, it is prohibited to dispose of toxic substances, aggressive chemicals, chlorine, medications and some detergents into the drains. Chemicals entering the septic tank will kill the bacteria.

  • The septic tank needs to be cleaned once a year.
  • Remove sludge every 6 months

How is the cleaning done?

In fact, the Terra septic tank is a bio-treatment station in which complete treatment of domestic sewage waste takes place. The level of purification during normal operation of the station is 98%, so water can be discharged without the use of post-treatment units.

Cleaning steps

The disposal of domestic sewage waste proceeds as follows:

  • primary cleaning takes place in the receiving compartment, where the liquid is preliminarily clarified by settling;
  • then the liquid through the overflow hole enters the next compartment in which the aerator is installed. Here, under conditions of forced air supply, organic matter decomposes under the influence of microorganisms;
  • at the next stage, the liquid is again subjected to settling, at this stage activated sludge particles precipitate;

An example of a septic tank installed on site

  • the clarified liquid flows into the next compartment, where it settles further;
  • purified water flows into the fifth compartment, equipped with a pump, which pumps out water for discharge.

Advice! In the event of a power outage, the septic tank will be able to receive water for several more hours, but you should try to reduce the volume of wastewater so as not to provoke flooding of the septic tank. During a prolonged power outage, anaerobic digestion processes begin to occur in the septic tank, which will lead to the appearance of an unpleasant odor.

Equipment

The Terra septic tank has a cylindrical plastic body. Low-density polyethylene is used to make the body. The wall thickness is 4 mm, there is additional reinforcement, the spacing of the stiffeners is 10-15 centimeters. The delivery set includes electrical equipment:

  • compressor;
  • pump for pumping out clean water.

Station maintenance

In accordance with the instructions, during the operation of the Terra, the following work must be performed regularly:

  1. If a constant outlet of purified process water from the station is not organized, then as it is filled, approximately once every 4 months, the liquid should be pumped out with a pump.
  2. After 1-2 years, using the stationary pumping included in the package, sludge is removed from the installation.
  3. At the same time, the filters are washed with water from a hose.

If the station is installed, operated and maintained in accordance with the instructions, it will ensure a comfortable life in your home.

User manual

Terra septic tanks are fully equipped, so there is no need to look for additional parts. It is better to entrust installation to specialists, since proper installation of the system is a guarantee of its long-term operation. Firstly, the design of the installation is quite heavy (about 150 kg), so installation requires people who will do all the work without using special equipment. Secondly, correct installation of the system guarantees its long-lasting operation.

Due to its characteristics, the installation can operate effectively for 50 years. But in order for it to work without failures, it is necessary to ensure proper maintenance of the system:

  • visually inspect all cameras of the system once every six months;
  • regularly wash the coarse filters;
  • silt settles at the bottom of the first chamber, which must be removed periodically. When using biological products for septic tanks, cleaning can be done only once every 5-8 years.

Servicing should be carried out 2 times a year.
