Review of the “Rucheek” water pump: device, connection and operation rules

Water pump Brook 1 - a practical and economical solution for a summer residence

Some brands of household pumps have been known and popular since Soviet times. Even the imported analogues that flooded the market did not shake their reputation. Such “dinosaurs” include the Rucheek vibration pump, produced in Belarus, which has been serving our summer residents faithfully for more than forty years.

Even today you can find it in almost every second dacha where there is a well or well. Which is not surprising: the unit is of good quality, light weight and dimensions, ease of use and affordable price.

Kinds

Pump Rucheyok V-40The simplicity of the design is reflected in the number of types of Rucheyok pumps, although the number of manufactured modifications is quite large.
This is due to the principle of drawing water from a reservoir (reservoir):

  • model with upper position of the check valve (upper water inflow).

Rucheyok-V-10, V-15, V-25, V-40. The pump is constantly in the water and is not in danger of overheating;

with lower valve position (lower water inflow).

Rucheyok-N-10, N-15, N-25, N-40. It is possible that the pump, having pumped out as much water as possible, ends up in the air, which threatens inevitable overheating. To avoid this, it is equipped with a thermal relay that protects it from overheating.

In terms of design and technical characteristics, both types of pumps differ little from each other. The numerical indicators for all modifications indicate the length of the supply cable - from 10 to 40 meters.

What to do if the pump breaks down

Since the design of the device is very reliable and does not contain rotating or abrasive elements, malfunctions of the Rucheek pump during the warranty period of 30 months occur quite rarely. And if they do happen, it is repaired free of charge.

But nothing lasts forever, and problems can still arise over time. Most often they are associated with the ingress of large abrasive particles or water into the mechanism. Why does this happen and how to troubleshoot it yourself?

  • Due to the impact of solid particles that have penetrated inside, despite the built-in filter, the rubber valve may be deformed or torn. It can be easily replaced using a repair kit or by cutting out a similar part from thick rubber. For example, from the cork of bottles with liquid medications.

Repair kit for vibration pumps

  • Water enters the pump as a result of depressurization of the housing when the device is close to the walls of the well or operates in the well without a shock-absorbing rubber ring. Vibrating, it receives blows to the body, which cannot withstand such a load. Water poured into it leads to detachment of the magnet from the filling. To secure it, you need to cut grooves on its surface with a grinder, fill them with waterproof sealant and insert them back, pressing them well until dry.

It is important! During further operation of the pump, it is necessary to prevent its contact with the walls of the casing pipe, as well as operation in dry mode.

Specifications

The vibration pump “Rucheek” is considered to be quite high-quality equipment according to its technical characteristics. In many respects it is superior to the products of other manufacturing companies. Often devices have a water lift height of 40 m. Pumps with this figure of 60 m are more practical.

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating features
Before installing the Rucheyok vibration pump, you should watch the training video

The equipment can be submerged to a maximum of 7 m. If the device is used for a well, then its diameter must necessarily exceed the size of the pump itself. Typically its diameter is 10 cm. The main thing when choosing a pump is its performance. It is determined by the number of liters of water that the equipment pumps per hour of operation.

Varieties of Rucheek pumps by performance:

  • Small is 360 l/h;
  • Average figures - 750 l/h;
  • High allows you to pump 1500 l/h.

The power is in the range of 225-300 W. In this case, the voltage for all models is 220 V with a current frequency of 50 Hz. The equipment can operate uninterruptedly for 12 hours.

Other characteristics include the type of pump. This is usually an immersive vertical view. The unit is aluminum, with one check valve. Weight is 4 kg. In this case, there may be models with different cable lengths - from 10 to 40 m. The diameter of the hose varies between 18-22 mm. Depending on the model, water can penetrate both from below and from above.

Points that deserve consumer attention

The numerous advantages of the “Rucheyka” model are accompanied by several negative aspects.

  • Intolerance to idling. “Rucheek”, which is not equipped with thermal protection, can fail when operating without water supply even for a few seconds. Cause? Damage to the winding due to overheating.
  • The threaded connections of the “Rucheyka” pump very often come loose. This is provoked by a continuous vibration process. But there is always a way out, you just have to replace the regular nuts with self-locking ones.
  • Over time, rust appears on the housing bolts. The aluminum casing of the Rucheek pump is equipped with steel bolts, which are susceptible to corrosion during prolonged contact with water. It is easy to solve the problem - replace the existing parts with new ones made of non-ferrous metals.

  • An additional filter in the form of a metal mesh, placed on the suction opening of the unit, can slow down the process of wear of the rubber elements of the Rucheyok pump.
  • Over- or under-locking of the check valve is also easily resolved. Before you start using the Brook, you just need to tighten the nuts or adjust the fastening.

The “Rucheek” pump, like all vibration-type units, is sensitive to voltage changes. Reducing voltage levels by 10% halves performance. There is no point in rejoicing when a voltage higher than required by technical specifications ensures accelerated operation. This process leads to rapid wear of the mechanisms. Adding a voltage stabilizer to the Rucheyka pump will help eliminate problem situations.

Device capabilities

Of course, this pump will not radically solve your global problems in the water supply of a large suburban area, since on average it has a power of one hundred and fifty to two hundred and twenty-five watts. But the owner of a country house will be able to effectively understand many processes.

Hydraulic feed

In the house, this unit copes with the necessary supply of natural water. True, at the same time you will not be able to calmly bathe in the bathtub, wash the accumulated dishes and do laundry, since the pump only produces up to seven liters per minute.

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating features

But if you use it skillfully and sparingly enough, it will be enough to take a warm summer shower and wash the accumulated clothes. Water pressure directly depends on the depth of a particular water resource. The higher the number, the correspondingly less feed.

It is not advisable to connect the pump simultaneously to your country house, bathhouse and other important outbuildings, as this may cause an unwanted automatic reboot of the system.

Pump replacement

Some private owners of country houses who use more powerful and expensive equipment in their home water supply buy this budget pump as insurance. After all, absolutely anyone can break down, even the best imported device, and it will take a lot of time before you get it repaired by specialists and get it back.

And in any case, the pump will be useful to you on the farm. And then “Rucheek” will be useful to you to meet your life needs. It is a kind of lifesaver for the owners of country houses and will not leave you alone in difficult troubles, of which there are so many in the daily life of every person who owns a country house.

Application in a slow-filling source

When carefully digging a well or well, it is difficult to guess in advance how quickly the proper water level will be restored after repeated use. One source will do this instantly, while the second will take many days for the long-awaited update.

But when buying a device, few people think about this, and it happens that the unit pumps out water very quickly rather than replenishing it. In such a situation, the system may shut down automatically and require an early restart. By drawing quickly, the chances of getting cloudy water increase.

It is best to take “Rucheek”, as it works more stably and has a low intake intensity.

How to successfully restore a clogged well?

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating features

You can develop a system using the Brook. The quality of the water, of course, will not change, but the volume will increase significantly, you will immediately notice this for yourself.

Turn on the pump and lower it as close as possible to the required filter. Thanks to the vibrating mechanism, numerous layers will be knocked out and then raised to a flat surface. Several such successful attempts, and the well will begin to come into complete order.

It is not necessary to stand directly next to your well while working. In any case, the water pump will not pump out all the water. Therefore, you can take care of your accumulated household chores. For example, you can water your garden. You will immediately notice a change in water quality and volume.

Pumping water out of a flooded room

In the spring, very often, summer residents' basements and cellars are heavily flooded. Carrying water out using small buckets is very problematic and takes up a lot of precious time. A good quality pump from a Belarusian domestic manufacturer will help you here.

New heating system

When building a new house, the heating system is done first of all, rather than connecting to the water supply. We need to somehow fill all the pipes.

The scheme is this: you bring water in a huge barrel, insert this pump into it, and connect the second hose to the drain valve of the battery. Next, the tap is carefully opened and this unit is started. While the system is carefully filling, look carefully at the special pressure gauge to determine when the pressure is at the level you need.

“Rucheek” for all occasions

It is best to equip a relatively shallow well with a low flow rate or a well with similar characteristics with a “Rucheek” pump or another budget model. More powerful and expensive equipment is simply not needed here. It will empty the well too quickly; the danger of a “dry run” in such a situation is very high.

The product data sheet says that the pump is intended only for digesting clean water. However, over the decades of the model’s existence, owners of private houses and summer cottages have found a wide variety of uses for this device. For example, this model is widely used when pumping wells.

This table shows the main characteristics of the “Rucheek” pump, thanks to which this unit is able to cope with many household tasks

After drilling of such structures is completed, the water remains heavily contaminated with particles of silt, sand, etc. To obtain potable clean water, this mixture must be completed.

Practice has shown that “Rucheek” copes well with this task. The peculiarity of the Brooklet pump is that it has no rotating parts. Therefore, it does not clog too quickly when working in contaminated water.

Periodically, the pump is removed, disassembled, washed, the necessary repairs are made, and then reassembled and put into operation. Of course, with such treatment, the wear rate increases significantly. It is not surprising that during the process of pumping a well, the pump can completely fail.

To clean one well, depending on the situation, you may need two or even three or four such units. But in terms of money it comes out much cheaper than purchasing special equipment with increased wear resistance.

Inexperienced property owners sometimes believe that they can pump the well using the pump that will supply water to the water supply of the house. This is absolutely the wrong decision.

Owners of wells and wells periodically have to clean their structures. In these cases, a pump of this type is irreplaceable. It will effectively cope with pumping contaminated water from a well or borehole.

If the pump is at hand, all work will be completed much faster. If the well is silted or sandy, the vibrations that arise during the operation of the Brook turn from an enemy into a friend.

'Disassembled pump
This is what the “Rucheek” pump looks like disassembled. The durable steel case reliably protects the device from external influences and frequent breakdowns

High-quality and expensive submersible pumps are usually designed for long-term operation with clean water. It is better to pump water heavily contaminated with sand using a “Rucheyok” or other budget equipment. If, after pumping the well, some “Stream” managed to “survive”, it will definitely find further use.

The vibrating effect allows you to quickly and effectively destroy the silt plug, clean the holes in the well filter and pump out dirt to the surface. As a result, the well's flow rate will increase significantly.

To clean silted wells, it is recommended to use a model with an upper water intake.

“Stream” gathering dust in the barn will become a real find if the main pump in a well or well breaks down for some reason. It will be a completely acceptable temporary replacement, allowing you to restore water supply in the house in a matter of hours. While the main pump is being repaired, you will not have to purchase or rent new equipment.

Flooding of a basement, inspection hole in a garage, or other similar recess with drainage water is an unpleasant situation. And scooping out unnecessary liquid with a bucket will take a lot of time and effort.

Since drainage water usually does not contain much contaminants, the “Rucheek” pump is ideal for pumping it out.

Vibration device in cleaning water intake workings
Inexpensive, small-sized vibrators are used in cleaning water intake structures. They stir up silt deposits at the bottom of wells and wells, which are then pumped out by drainage pumps

It works slowly, of course, but steadily. Of course, one cannot expect ideal purity from drainage water. To improve the operation of the pump, it is recommended to use a special additional filter that will protect the structure from contamination.

The filter is made in the form of a cap and is intended for the upper part of the pump. To put it on, it is recommended to warm up this element first. Then installing the filter will be much faster and easier.

If your house has a swimming pool or other large reservoir of water, the “Rucheek” pump can be used to pump water out of such containers. In this case, it makes sense to use the “Rucheek-1M” . Unlike other models, it is equipped with a lower water intake, which allows you to completely remove water from the tank.

Pumps of the “Rucheek” type are also used when installing heating systems, namely for pressure testing, when filling the system with water is required. Water can be taken from a well or brought in a separate barrel.

Place a hose on the pump inlet and lower it into the water. The second hose, put on the pump supply pipe, is connected to the open drain valve of the heating system.

Using a pressure gauge, the pressure in the system is monitored. After crimping, the identified faults are eliminated. In general, we can say that “Rucheek” type pumps can be used to solve almost any problem of pumping out liquid or pumping it to its destination. The main requirement is that the water should not be too dirty.

Vibrating pump in a well
The main advantage of the “Rucheek” pump and similar models is its budget price. It’s not a pity to “throw” them into doing “dirty work”. If the device fails, simply replace it with a new one.

Using the Brook as a drainage device

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating featuresIt must be borne in mind that if the equipment is used for other purposes, this will significantly reduce its service life.
Malfunction of the pump can be caused by sand and small stones getting into the mechanism. The power of “Rucheyok” can even cope with pumping out drainage, melt water and replenishment with average pollution. But it’s worth taking care of purchasing a filter for additional protection. The pump is immersed in this filter like in a glass. There are many different types of guards available. The most common are rubberized covers that are pulled over a heated pump.

Pump repair

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating features
Since the pump is not expensive, many people often simply refuse repair work and simply purchase a new one. But basically this device is perfectly repairable for a small fee. You can do the repair yourself by cleaning the parts from dirt and replacing the gaskets. Of course, minor difficulties may arise when disassembling the device. Rust covers the mounting bolts, and it is not so easy to unscrew them.

Models and analogues

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating features
There are three models of this pump on the market - the “Rucheek”, “Rucheek-1” and “Rucheek-1M” pumps. Their design is similar, but there are differences. Thus, in the “Rucheek-1” model, an upper water intake system is installed, which helps to obtain the purest water. And “Rucheek-1M” takes water from the lower hole. This model is most suitable for pumping out tanks that need to be completely emptied.

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating featuresThe “Rucheek” pump is very popular.
This is explained by the fact that it has a relatively low price and fairly high quality. The submersible pump is also very easy to use. It does not need any settings before operation, you just need to press a button and it will work. When purchasing a “Rucheek” pump, immediately check the length of the electrical cable included in the kit. Standard models may include a cable of 10.15, 25, 40 meters, which also affects the cost of the device. Modern models of the Rucheyok pump have a special sensor with the ability to detect temperature and a shutdown function when the device reaches a critical point.
This situation is possible if the pump is out of water. This dry running protection can prevent breakdown and extend the life of the pump.

Malfunctions and repairs

Adjusting the functionality of Brook at home:

  1. Disassembly and preventative cleaning:
      disassembly and troubleshooting of mechanism parts;
  2. dismantling the cap with the suction valve;
  3. removing the nuts and dismantling the piston;
  4. monitoring the condition of the shock absorber.
  5. Checking the gap at the magnet and rod assembly:
      place pieces of plasticine between the magnet and the rod;
  6. install the rod without a piston;
  7. close the lid and compress, disassemble in the reverse order and measure the thickness of the plasticine (4-5 mm);
  8. Adjustment is made using washers.
  9. To control the accuracy of piston installation, you must:
      mount the piston and install 2 bolts on the cover;
  10. blow into the outlet fitting with your mouth: add a gasket with free air passage;
  11. air must pass inside much more difficult;
  12. adjustment is complete.
  13. Installation of the suction valve after troubleshooting:
      the process of blowing air should be very difficult;
  14. The general assembly must be carried out on the sealant, especially the electrical wire.

Expert advice: when replacing a check valve, in the absence of a standard one, you can use a rubber stopper from pharmaceutical bottles.

When pumping water, it is important to control the non-contact operation of the pump with the walls of wells, barrels, and wells.

During operation, the unit, touching them, will receive shocks.

The case is not an anvil: it will heat up and the filling of the magnet assembly will be destroyed. A similar situation occurs when the unit is running dry.

The repair proceeds as follows:

  • it is necessary to dismantle the electrical part;
  • remove the magnet from the housing;
  • Using a grinder, cut shallow grooves on the body for the sealant;
  • lubricate the body with sealant used for inserting windshields;
  • reassemble in reverse order;
  • allow it to dry;
  • complete the final assembly of the entire pump.

Advice from practice: to avoid cases of pump clogging, you need to purchase a special external filter, which is placed on the suction part like a cap. There are similar filters that fit entirely over the entire pump.

The Brook pump is a reliable and unpretentious assistant for any zealous owner. All he needs is a little attention and accuracy. He will thank you for this with trouble-free operation and an abundance of water, at the most important moment.

Watch the video in which an experienced user explains the features of using the Rucheek submersible pump:

Technical description of this device

Experts classify this type of pump as a classified submersible pump, which operates quickly and successfully due to multiple oscillatory movements of the diaphragm, which instantly responds to any change in the pressure of the device.

Brook pumps technical characteristics and operating features
Significant difference in pressure

This unit operates exclusively from two hundred and twenty watts, in sixty minutes, while consuming about two hundred and fifty watts in total. First of all, everything depends directly on the maximum power of a particular brand of technical device.

It completely lacks various moving elements and unnecessary bearings; thanks to this characteristic, it functions effectively, because with the help of friction, the necessary parts are damaged and their immediate reinstallation is required.

The water intake is located at the top, which provides an important benefit in high-quality cooling of the entire working system. In real operation, the working system does not experience excessive heat and, accordingly, does not face daily overloads.

The second, but not least important, advantage of the upper intake is the complete absence of suction from the bottom, due to which clean water is not contaminated and all residents of a country house or summer cottage can drink it every day without worrying about the general state of their health and the health of their children.

Main advantages and disadvantages

The popularity of the “Rucheek” submersible pump can be explained simply: at a relatively low price, this device is of fairly high quality. But this is not his only advantage. “Rucheek” is extremely easy to use. It needs to be specially configured in some way; just press the power button and it will start working.

This diagram shows the components of the Rucheek pump. In the event of a breakdown, the device is not difficult to disassemble and repair (+)

The simple design of the pump ensures its exceptional maintainability. In the event of a breakdown, the pump is not difficult to disassemble, repair or replace damaged components, and then reassemble. All components necessary for repair are usually available for free sale.

The next “plus” of this pump is the wide range of tasks that can be solved with its help. The “stream” pumps not only clean water, but also some contaminated liquids, although this shortens its service life.

The disadvantages of the “Rucheek” pump include the nature of its operation. Continuous vibration exposure can negatively affect the condition of the filter well. Vibrations destroy the sand layer, which increases the rate of sanding of the well and can completely disable the structure.

A deep well extracting water from fractured limestone is not afraid of vibration, but “Rucheyok” is not designed to digest water from such a great depth. Therefore, pumps of this type are not suitable for continuous operation in sand wells. However, for drawing water from a well, such equipment can be a real godsend.

Homemade filter for vibration generator
If a vibration pump is used to drain a basement or pump water from an open source, it is advisable to protect its intake part. At least with this homemade filter from a plastic bottle

Pump disassembly

Disassembling the pump usually does not cause much difficulty.

After lifting the device from the well, you should blow out the outlet fitting, removing any remaining water from the pump. All mating parts of the device should be marked with a marker in order to set them in the exact position during assembly. Then we proceed to disassemble the case, holding it in a vice by the ledges near the screws. The screws holding the two halves of the housing together (4 pieces) should be loosened evenly. After removing the cover, the vibrator is removed from the housing - the main working unit of the pump.

By unscrewing the fixing washer located on top of the vibrator, you can disassemble the entire assembly. All components are strung on the central rod one after another, like the rings on a children's pyramid. The main thing is to remember the correct sequence of all these parts when disassembling the vibrator. To do this, it is recommended to capture each stage of dismantling with a phone camera.

Advantages of membrane devices

The choice of low-power pumps that operate only in the warm season is justified for a summer residence:

  • the device is easy to maintain, repairable and reliable;
  • water, contacts electromagnetic waves and is beneficial for use;
  • the low price of the Rucheek pump is due to production in the CIS and the absence of customs duties;
  • diaphragm pumps have a 30 month warranty provided they are used correctly.

Malysh and Rucheek pumps of all modifications can be purchased in any corner of the country. Order the device on the manufacturer's website. Delivery is carried out to your doorstep.

The Rucheek pump operates at a voltage of 220 V and is adapted to the conditions of domestic energy supply. The Malysh device should only be connected through a stabilizer. A short-term peak of 240 V will lead to failure of the magnet winding.
