During the pumping process, the wastewater passes through a hair trap (7), where non-recyclable fibrous substances are collected.
In the aeration tank, wastewater undergoes further purification using activated sludge - colonies of bacteria and microorganisms “living” in the septic tank, which process contaminated wastewater in the process of life. As in the receiving chamber, there is also an aerator at the bottom of the aeration tank, which, by saturating the wastewater with oxygen, maintains the functionality of activated sludge.
After processing in the aeration tank, the treated wastewater, together with activated sludge, enters the next compartment - the secondary settling tank. The purpose of this compartment is to separate purified water from activated sludge. Under the influence of gravity, the sludge in this chamber sinks to the bottom, and the purified water through a fine filter (13) is discharged by gravity into the drainage. Or, it is pumped out forcibly using a drainage pump (in PR modifications).
Activated sludge settles to the bottom and is then pumped by an aeration tank pump into the stabilizer chamber (G). Where is it pumped from when maintenance is carried out.
Treated wastewater is clear water (or slightly cloudy if the septic tank is in the start-up stage), 95-98% purified. Water after processing is technical and it is not worth watering, for example, strawberries or cucumbers, because bacteriological purification is not provided as standard.
